Deacon William (Bill) J. Garrett

Bill comes to Cristo Rey Atlanta after serving as the President of the Saint Joseph’s Mercy Foundation, where he was responsible for all fundraising activities for Saint Joseph’s Hospital and Saint Joseph’s Mercy Care Services. He also served as the Chief Mission Officer for Saint Joseph’s Health System, where he was responsible for maintaining the Catholic identity of the hospital, including patient quality, pastor care, ethics and volunteerism.

Previously, Bill was with the United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta, serving at various times as Vice President-Campaign, Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President for Community Impact. Prior to that, he served as National Director of Development for UNICEF in the United States.

He holds a Master of Social Work and a Master of Business Administration from Columbia University, as well as a Master of Theological Studies from Spring Hill College. Bill is an ordained Deacon in the Catholic Church. He and his wife, Susan, have two adult children, Sean and Emily, and two grandchildren, Ryan and John.

Diane Bush started at Cristo Rey Atlanta when it opened after spending 12 years teaching in an archdiocesan Catholic school.  She worked for a number of years as a pediatric physical therapist, and fell in love with teaching when she began teaching science to middle school students.


She received her B.S. in Experimental Psychology from the University of Georgia, a Physical Therapy degree from Georgia State University, an M.S. in Geoscience from Mississippi State University, and an Ed.S. from Liberty University.  She is currently working on a doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction.


Diane lives in Atlanta with her husband and has four grown children and four grandchildren.

 

Vice President, Corporate Work Study Program

Bruce has a long and distinguished history of community involvement in the greater Atlanta area, including leadership roles with Saint Joseph’s Health System, Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Mercy Care Foundation, Saint Joseph’s Research Institute, Gwinnett Tech Foundation, Public Broadcasting of Greater Atlanta, and the Board of Regents of Georgetown University. Mr. Simmons had an exemplary career in banking retiring after 29 years from Citicorp as Managing Director and Senior Credit Officer.

As VP, Corporate Work Study, Mr. Simmons will work with board member Bernie Santa Maria and a host of dedicated volunteers to secure enough corporate partners and sponsors to ensure that each of our students have paid corporate work study positions. 

Bruce, working with staff and volunteers, will manage the day-to-day logistics of the work study program; the development and implementation of the summer business training program necessary to prepare students to enter the work force; as well as dealing with the transportation logistics.

Bruce will be an integral part of the leadership team and will help guide the organization to new heights over the years ahead, as Cristo Rey continues to grow its mission - to change the lives of young people and their families.

Camille Naughton

Camille comes to Cristo Rey Atlanta after serving as Director of Development for Christ the King School in Atlanta. During her time there, school donations increased fourfold. Prior to that, Camille was a part-time Executive Recruiter while she was home with her children (1999 - 2007). Previously, Camille was Director of Government Affairs for the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce, and before that, she worked as a Legislative Aide in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Camille resides in Buckhead with her husband Tim.  They have two children, at Ohio Wesleyan and St. Pius X Catholic High School, and their family is active at the Cathedral of Christ the King parish.
