Curriculum and Course Catalog

CRAJ students must successfully earn credits in these areas in order to graduate. The required credits have been determined in part by the expectations set by the Cristo Rey Network and the State of Georgia and have been approved by the Southern Association of Independent Schools. The only exception to these requirements are for students who transfer to CRAJ as Sophomores; these exceptions must still be approved by the Principal. Graduation requirements have been set beginning with the Class of 2023.

English Language Arts:  4 credits

Corporate Work Study Program: 4 credits

World Languages: 3 credits 

Computer Science: 3 credits 

Wellness (PE / Health): 1 credit

CRAJ will offer the following eight AP courses during the 2023-24 school year. These courses align with the curriculum provided by the College Board. All students studying in AP classes are expected to sit for the AP exams in May 2024.

*While AP Spanish Language and Culture is not offered as a course, students do have the opportunity to take the exam at a local Atlanta high school. Please contact the Assistant Principal for Academics prior to August 31 if you are interested. 

To pass a course, a student must earn a grade of 60 or higher for each semester of the course. That is, a student must earn a grade of 60 or higher for both Semester 1 (S1) and Semester 2 (S2) in all required course. These two grades – the S1 grade and the S2 grade – are included on each student’s official transcript.

One grade is earned per course, per semester; however, each student will have an unweighted Grade Point Average (GPA) and a weighted GPA, with the weighted GPA including appropriate weights for Honors and Advanced Placement courses. That is, the “weighted grading” for Advanced Placement (AP) and Honors courses is reflected in the weighted GPA. This “weighted grading” acknowledges the additional rigor and other course requirements that are found in the AP and Honors courses

Report cards are also issued at the end of each quarter - the grades for Quarter 1 (Q1) and Quarter 3 (Q3) are not included on official transcript
