Georgia GOAL
The Georgia General Assembly passed the Qualified Education Expense Credit law in 2008 which permits Georgia taxpayers to receive a state income tax credit for amounts contributed to qualified Student Scholarship Organizations (SSOs). SSOs match contributor funds to qualifying students as scholarships. Individuals and corporations can donate to approved SSOs and receive a credit on their Georgia state income taxes.
